Big Village Christmas Party

2011 has proven to be a huge year for one of Australian Hip Hops newest labels, Big Village. 2011 saw the release of a label collaboration album, Big Things Volume 1which saw new and exclusive tracks from the entire Big Village line up, Daily Meds, Loose Change, True Vibenation, Tuka, Jeswon and Reverse Polarities. This album showed that nothing but big things for this small Sydney based label in the future. August saw the release of Big VIllages's main man Ellesquire's debut solo album, "Ready" which has received nothing but love from fellow hip hop heads and was added to the rotation on the J's. September came and October passed but not without several insane gigs form Ellesquire on tour after releasing his debut album. Finally November came which saw the release of True Vibenation's debut album, " The Sunshower Phenomenon".

But the question ponders in one's head, "How do you wrap such a successful year like this up?" Well with a christmas party to out do all christmas parties of course. so make sure that this Friday the 23rd of December you head down to Sydney's Annandale Hotel for a Block Party style christmas party like no other. The line up features the entire Big Village crew, True Vibenation, Ellesquire, Tuka, Daily Meds and Rapaport and a whole heap of extend fam including, Ozi Batla, Joe New, She Rex, Herb, Ruthless, DJ Migz and High Tops Brass Band. Tickets are just $10 presale and $15, Doors open at 7pm so be sure to get down for a Merry old night of celebration of the year that has been and the year to come.

Ellesquire - On The Prowl

Since the release of his debut album ‘Ready’ in August, Ellesquire has been creating quite a buzz. Receiving positive reviews and feedback from street press, radio, magazines & blogs nation wide. The album was FBi Radio ‘Sunsets album of the week’ and it’s single ‘On The Prowl’ was added to full rotation on Triple J. ‘On The Prowl’ has been the most requested song twice on Triple J’s Super Request, Reached number 9 on the Itunes Hip Hop/ Rap charts and has clocked over 30 000 views on youtube within a month of it’s release.


Stemming from the albums success, Ellesquire has been hand picked to play at upcoming festivals such as ‘Changing Lanes’, ‘Peats Ridge’ and ‘Sub Sonic’ As well as scoring support slots for Biz Markie, The Herd, Mantra & Thundamentals.

Big Village

Big Village is an independent record label who represent the latest wave in Sydney’s Hip Hop artists. Big village consist Daily Meds (P.Smurf, Mikoen, Billie Rose and Roleo), Loose Change (Rapaport and Ellesquire), True Vibenation (Verbaleyes, Native Wit and Gabriel Clouston), Reverse Polarities (Kit Complete, MC Mute, P.Smurf, Mikoen and Billie Rose), Tuka, Ellesquire and Jeswon.


Big Village was founded by the artist that it currently represents. During the formation of the label all members have contributed their expertise in one way or another. The label is run entirely by the artist from event promotions, web design, social networking or gig bookings. This group of young artist are truly taking on a BIG challenge. 

The label was established in 2010 which was a BIG year for this collective group of artists where we say releases from Tuka, Will Rap for Tuka, Daily meds EP and a free digital release form Loose Change.  This year we have seen and can expect the Big Village Complication, Ellesquire’s solo album, True Vibenation EP and a full length album from Daily Meds.
